Superstar Set To Join Man Utd In £131m Deal, Shirt Number Already Picked Out
Cristiano Ronaldo has decided to leave Real Madrid and is set to make a sensational return to Manchester United in a £131m move this summer
The summer transfer window is open and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are linked with Cristiano Ronaldo…
Cristiano Ronaldo has decided to leave Real Madrid and is set to make a sensational return to Manchester United in a £131m deal this summer, according to reports in Spain via TeamTalk.
Ronaldo became one of the best players in the world during a six-year spell at Old Trafford before sealing a then world-record move to Madrid in the summer of 2009.
The Portuguese super-star has gone on to establish himself as one of the all-time greats of the game having won 5 Ballon d’Or’s and a whole host of trophies at the Bernabeu.
Ronaldo has scored an incredible 450 goals in just 438 games for Los Blancos and helped them win a fourth Champions League in the last five years with victory over Liverpool last month.
However, Ronaldo is constantly linked with a move away from the Spanish giants and his future is once again uncertain as we head in to the summer transfer window.
TeamTalk are citing a report from AS that claims Ronaldo has decided to leave Madrid after they refused to meet his salary demands following talks over yet another contract extension.
The Madrid-based publication says Ronaldo’s decision is ‘final’ while TeamTalk cite a similar report from Record that claims the 33-year-old is now set for a stunning return to Man Utd with a move ‘imminent’.
The Portuguese outlet says United will pay around £131m for Ronaldo and have already told him he can his old No.7 shirt – despite the fact Alexis Sanchez’s only took the number following his move in January.
Ordinarily, £131m for a player aged 33 would seem insane, but given Ronaldo’s huge marketing value and the fact he’s still one of the best players on the planet, it would still be an excellent deal for United if these reports were accurate.
However, I’m not sure I’d pay too much attention to these rumours as it’s highly unlikely Ronaldo will join United anytime soon as £131m transfer don’t just happen overnight.

This speculation happens every summer when Ronaldo is pushing for a pay rise and he always ends up signing a new lucrative deal at Madrid so United fans shouldn’t be getting too excited just yet.
