Man Utd Set For Talks Over Audacious Deal To Land 41-Goal Star Ahead Of Chelsea

Manchester United are ready to demand Chelsea target Robert Lewandowski as part of any deal that sees Anthony Martial join Bayern Munich, according to reports via TeamTalk.

Martial is at war with Jose Mourinho as the United boss is ready to fine the attacker for returning back late to pre-season training following the birth of his child and it’s fuellled speculation that the French international will be on the move this summer.

The 22-year-old fell out of favour under Mourinho last season and TeamTalk claim that Bayern Munich are showing a keen interest in offering Martial a fresh start in Germany but they are reluctant to meet Man Utd’s £70m asking price.

It seems United have an ambitious plan in mind as the report is citing the Sun as claiming that the Manchester giants will demand Lewandowski as part of any deal involving Martial heading to the Allianz Arena this summer.

United have long been linked with the Polish international hitman and the newspaper says the Red Devils are set to hold talks with Bayern to discuss a sensational player swap deal.

An apparent source told the paper:

“Bayern are still keen and United have been after Lewandowski for a long time and want him.

“His agent is close to Jose and United and he is keeping them both in the loop along with Real Madrid.

“This is all down to whether he wants to go and Bayern are happy for him to leave. It’s up in the air.”

Lewandowski’s future at Bayern is in serious doubt as he’s gone public with his desire to seek a fresh challenge and the Daily Star reported earlier this week that Chelsea have made the striker their No.1 target after missing out on Gonzalo Higuain.

Maurizio Sarri is in the market for a new front-man amid speculation Alvaro Morata could be on the move and it seems Chelsea are hoping to secure a deal to land Lewandowski before the window shuts next week.

However, they’ll now face stiff competition from Man Utd for the 29-year-old, who’s been one of the most prolific strikers in world football over the past few years and enhanced that reputation by scoring 41 times in 48 appearances last season.
