Tottenham Team News: Poch Confirms Fresh Double Injury Blow But Midfielder Returns
Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed a double injury blow ahead of Tottenham’s trip to Watford on Sunday but a midfielder is back in contention
Tottenham will be looking to maintain their 100% start to the new season when they take on Watford at Vicarage Road on Sunday afternoon.
Ahead of the game, Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s provided a team news and injury update.
The Spurs boss has confirmed a huge blow with the news that Hugo Lloris will miss the trip to Watford this weekend after the French international picked up a minor thigh problem.
Lloris hit the headlines after being caught drink driving last week but was still selected for the win at Manchester United on Monday and Pochettino is hopeful his number one will be fit for the Liverpool game after the international break. Michel Vorm is expected to stand-in this weekend.
Tottenham have suffered a double injury blow after Pochettino confirmed that Moussa Sissoko will also miss the Watford game on Sunday after suffering a hamstring injury while young defender Juan Foyth is still working his way back from a thigh problem.
Argentinean attacker Erik Lamela will be given a late fitness test ahead of Sunday’s trip to Vicarage Road after picking up a minor hamstring injury in the warm-up before the United game earlier this week.
However, there was some positive news to come from Pochettino’s press conference as the Tottenham boss confirmed that Victor Wanyama is back in full training after recovering from a long-term knee injury.
#thfc Lloris (thigh) & Sissoko (hamstring) to miss Watford game, along with Foyth. Lamela to be assessed but Wanyama is back in full training.

Poch on Lloris injury: "We'll see. The idea is of course he will miss the game against Watford. We hope he will be ready again for Liverpool. It's no big issue."

Spurs head in to the weekend on 9 points after winning all three of their Premier League games so far and Pochettino will no doubt be keen to go in to the international break off the back of another victory against Watford on Sunday.
