Maurizio Sarri has confirmed one of his senior players will miss Chelsea’s clash with Bournemouth this weekend. See the team news here
Chelsea will be looking to maintain their 100% start to the new season when they take on Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
Ahead of the game Maurizio Sarri has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s provided a team news and injury update.
The Blues boss confirmed that Cesc Fabregas will once again miss out this weekend as the midfielder is continuing to overcome a knee injury that’s hampered him in recent weeks.
Fabregas is yet to make an appearance this season due to the issue but Sarri says the Spanish international is working in the pool and shouldn’t be out for too much longer as the injury isn’t serious.
During his pre-match press conference at Cobham, the Chelsea boss told reporters this afternoon:
Sarri says Cesc Fabregas is out of tomorrow's game but the injury is not serious. The midfielder is doing some work in the pool and will hopefully be back soon. #CHEBOU

Otherwise, Chelsea have no fresh injury concerns to worry about as Eden Hazard and Mateo Kovacic both came through unscathed after making their first starts of the season during the win over Newcastle last weekend.
Young midfielder Marco van Ginkel remains on the treatment table recovering from a serious knee ligament injury while Izzy Brown is also still working his way back to full fitness from an ACL knee injury.
As for Bournemouth, Eddie Howe will continue to be without Junior Stanislas due to a knee injury while Marc Pugh and Lys Mousset are also ruled out of the trip to west London this weekend.
