Chelsea will be looking to maintain their place in the top four with a win at Brighton on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues head in to the weekend action off the back of a disappointing 2-2 draw with Vidi in their final Europa League group game on Thursday night but the result was pretty meaningless as they’d already booked their place in the knockout stages as group winners.

Maurizio Sarri will still be demanding an improved display tomorrow as Chelsea look to keep their noses above Arsenal in the race for Champions League qualification.

Chelsea currently sit fourth on goal difference from the Gunners and with third-placed Tottenham beating Burnley today to open up a five point advantage, the Blues will be keen to reduce that gap with a win on Sunday.

They’ll take on a Brighton side that sit 13th in the Premier League table having taken 21 points from their 16 games so far but Chris Hughton will be hoping to get back to winning ways after losing to Burnley last time out.

Team news

Chelsea could be without Alvaro Morata after the striker picked up a knee injury in midweek while Mateo Kovacic misses out with a thigh injury.

Gary Cahill and Victor Moses are also injury absentees but the likes of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Antonio Rudiger, Eden Hazard, Jorginho, Cesar Azpilicueta and N’Golo Kante will be recalled after being rested on Thursday night.

Brighton welcome Glenn Murray back in to the squad after he recovered from a shoulder problem while Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Jose Izquierdo should also return but Shane Duffy is suspended.

Predicted Score

Brighton 0-2 Chelsea: Chelsea have won their last eight games in all competitions against Brighton and have conceded just once in the process so understandably they’re the red hot favourites. Brighton are usually solid at home but I can’t see past an away win here. I’m backing Sarri’s men to take a 2-0 win back to London.
