Chelsea and Arsenal head into the festive period hoping to stay in touch with the top three teams in the Premier League.

Just six points separates Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, with Chelsea a further two points behind.

Arsenal are three points adrift of the Blues in fifth place, but there is still plenty to play for during the second half of the campaign.

With Spurs handed a favourable run of games over the holiday season, their London rivals will be eager to ensure they don’t lose any ground over the next couple of weeks.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri will be happy with his team’s schedule as they bid to keep pace with the leading trio.

The Blues will be strongly fancied to beat Leicester City (H), Watford (A), Crystal Palace (A) and Southampton (H) and a 12-point haul shouldn’t be beyond them.

Arsenal will be keen to bounce back from their disappointing defeat at Southampton last weekend when they host Burnley on Saturday.

The Gunners have reeled off eight wins in a row against Burnley in all competitions and Unai Emery’s side should pick up three points at the Emirates Stdaium.

Arsenal will also fancy their chances of winning at Brighton & Hove Albion on Boxing Day, but their visit to Liverpool three days later promises to be much tougher.

The Reds are unbeaten in their last seven league meetings with Arsenal, although the last two matches have ended as draws.

A home game against Fulham on New Year’s Day should see Arsenal start 2019 on a winning note and keep them in the running for at least a top four finish.

With both Chelsea and Arsenal through to the last 32 of the Europa League and still involved in domestic cups, they have lots to look forward to over the next few months.

Both managers would probably concede that their respective squads are slightly short of what is needed to win the Premier League title, but if they can safely navigate the next couple of weeks they could still be in the mix.

With Liverpool and Man City set to face each other in early January it is imperative that the London duo keep up the pressure over Christmas and New Year.

Check out the official websites such as Arsenal.com or ChelseaFc.com for available tickets on sale for the games. StubHub and Ticketgum are reputable companies for finding tickets for sold out games, according to TravelMag.com. However, you will have to pay a significant surcharge.
