Liverpool in battle to sign £25m star, player ready to hold transfer talks
Liverpool are in a transfer battle with Manchester City and Bournemouth over the signing of £25m-rated Tranzonspur midfielder Abdulkadir Omur
The January transfer window is open and managers are working hard on strengthening their squads and identifying targets for the summer so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest rumours. Today, the latest on Liverpool’s move for Abdulkadir Omur….
Liverpool are in a transfer battle with Manchester City and Bournemouth over the signing of £25m-rated Tranzonspur midfielder Abdulkadir Omur, according to the Express.
Omur has developed in to one of the best young players in Turkish football since breaking in to the Trabzonspor first team in 2016 having progressed through the clubs youth ranks.
The midfielder has already been called up to the senior Turkish international squad having previously represented his country at U21 level and his potential seems to have caught the attention of clubs here in the Premier League.
The 19-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool this month after Jurgen Klopp reportedly identified the teenager as a potential transfer target as he looks to further strengthen his impressive squad.
Omur responded to the recent speculation by suggesting last weekend that Liverpool had put forward an offer and he was ready to hold talks over a move to Anfield if Trabzonspor gave him the green light.
The midfielder is quoted as saying by Turkish Football last weekend:
“Liverpool are a great club, one of the greatest in the world. These offers are something Trabzonspor need to discuss,”
“If the club give the go ahead talks can be held. The clubs interests take precedence. I’ll do whatever is in the clubs best interests.”
Klopp may have identified Omur as a potential replacement for Adam Lallana as the midfielder has struggled to make an impression this season with form and injury issues restricting him to limited first team appearances.
However, Liverpool will face plenty of competition if they do push ahead with a move for the Turkish wonderkid as the Express claim that Man City and Bournemouth are also showing a keen interest in Omur.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming weeks but the newspaper says that any deal for the ‘Turkish Lionel Messi’ would cost around £25m, so the likes of Liverpool and City will need to dig deep if they want to sign Omur this month or in the summer.
