The January transfer window is coming to a close so managers are working hard on strengthening their squads and identifying targets for the summer so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest rumours. Today, Arsenal are in talks for Yannick Carrasco…
Arsenal have made a late offer to sign Dalian Yifang winger Yannick Carrasco as Unai Emery looks to wrap-up two new additions before the window closes, according to France Football.
Denis Suarez has joined on loan from Barcelona but Emery is keen to further strengthen his squad and the Gunners boss has admitted he needs to add more width to his team.
Arsenal have been strongly linked with Ivan Perisic in recent weeks but widespread reports suggest that negotiations with Inter Milan have stalled and the Evening Standard claims we’ve now resumed talks for Carrasco.
The 25-year-old was touted as a potential target at the start of the month but Arsenal decided to focus their attention on Perisic, however, we’re now trying to resurrect a deal for the Belgian international during the closing stages of the window.
The Evening Standard says Arsenal are now actively trying to thrash out a loan deal with his current club Dalian Yifang and the Chinese Super League outfit are willing to let £35m-rated Carrasco leave.
The winger only joined Dalian Yifang from Atletico Madrid 12 months ago but he’s already keen to move back to Europe and French radio station RMC, via France Football, claim Arsenal submitted a formal offer on Tuesday night.
The report doesn’t provide any details on the precise nature of the offer but they do say Arsenal are hopeful of securing a deal despite negotiations being complicated due to a language barrier with Dalian Yifang President Shi Xueqing.
However, even if we can agree a loan deal we may still find it difficult to settle on terms with Carrasco as the Evening Standard says he earns £8.8m per year in China – which is around £170,000-a-week – and that could be a stumbling block for Arsenal.

We’ll have to wait and see how things progress but the winger’s agent has said time is running out for a deal to be agreed so Arsenal need to act fast if we want to get Carrasco on board before the window closes on Thursday night.
