This is our match preview ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Huddersfield including team news, expected line-ups and prediction

Alexandre Lacazette Arsenal

Arsenal will look to move level on points with fourth-placed Chelsea with a win over Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

We slumped to a 3-1 defeat at Manchester City last weekend that highlighted just how far off we are from competing with the very best in the league but we’re still right in the mix for Champions League qualification.

The loss at City has left us sixth in the table but Chelsea are just three points ahead in fourth so we can move level on points with the Blues ahead of their trip to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Arsenal will face a Huddersfield side that sit rock bottom of the Premier League with just 11 points from their 25 games so far so Unai Emery and his men should be confident of picking up the win tomorrow.

Team news

Arsenal will hand late fitness tests to Laurent Koscielny and top goalscorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as they’ve missed training this week due to illness but both players are expected to be available.

Shkodran Mustafi is also expected to be fit after returning to full training having been forced off with a back injury last weekend while Ainsley Maitland-Niles is back from a knee injury but Sokratis remains out with an ankle problem.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is pushing to return to the squad after recovering from a fractured foot but Granit Xhaka is still struggling with a groin injury so he could join Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck on the sidelines.

Huddersfield will be without Isaac Mbenza as he’s been ruled out for six weeks while Chris Lowe is struggling with illness and could join Danny Williams and Abelhamid Sabiri in missing the game.

However, Jonathan Hogg and Erik Durm are back in training while Karlan Grant is in-line to make his debut.

Predicted score

Huddersfield 1-3 Arsenal: We have a dire away record again this season but this is a great chance to improve it as Huddersfield are really struggling. They’ve scored just five goals in their 13 home league games this season and Arsenal should have way too much firepower for them to handle so I’m backing us to bring home all three points.
