4-3-3: Sarri to make 6 changes | Expected Chelsea line-up vs Wolves

Chelsea take on Wolves at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon. Here is the side I think Maurizio Sarri will select for the game:

Chelsea will be looking to keep the pressure on the top four with a win over Wolves at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon. Here is the side I think Maurizio Sarri will select for the game:

Goalkeeper: Kepa Arrizabalaga has started Chelsea’s last two games after being dropped against Tottenham following his on-pitch bust-up with Sarri in the League Cup final so I expect the Spaniard to retain his place ahead of Willy Caballero this weekend.

Defence: The Chelsea boss is expected to make some changes in defence after rotating his squad for the 3-0 victory over Dynamo Kyiv in the Europa League on Thursday night with Cesar Azpilicueta returning at right-back. Davide Zappacosta will therefore drop out following a rare start on Thursday.

Emerson Palmeiri could also return at left-back as he’s been rotating with Marcos Alonso in recent games while Antonio Rudiger is pushing for a recall in the middle of the back four. David Luiz could keep his place so Andreas Christensen will be the man to drop out if Rudiger is recalled.

Midfield: Sarri gave N’Golo Kante a breather against Dynamo Kyiv but the French international is expected to come back in to the midfield against Wolves this weekend.

Jorginho is almost certain to keep his place in the deep lying playmaker position as the Italian has been central to Chelsea’s playing style this season. Ross Barkley has been getting plenty of game time recently so he may get a rest with Mateo Kovacic the man to keep his place.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek will probably have to make-do with a place on the bench once again this weekend.

Attack: Chelsea made changes in attack for the Europa League game but despite scoring three times against the Ukrainian’s on Thursday night I still think we’ll still see their key-men return against Wolves.

Eden Hazard is certain to be recalled after being named on the bench in midweek while Gonzalo Higuain should also come back in for Olivier Giroud up front despite the Frenchman’s positive showing against Kyiv.

Pedro opened the scoring for Chelsea on Thursday while Willian scored a superb free-kick so it will be interesting to see who Sarri goes with on Sunday but I think Pedro might just get the nod over the Brazilian international.

Callum Hudson-Odoi came off the bench to score in the Europa League and the Chelsea fans are desperate to see more of him but the youngster will probably have to make-do with a place among the subs once again.
