Managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads during the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Here, Manchester United are linked with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic…
Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has flown to England to hold talks with Manchester United as the Red Devils look to thrash out a deal for the £72m-rated midfielder this summer, according to Sport Media Set.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has wasted no time strengthening his squad as he’s already snapped-up winger Daniel James and right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka but the United boss is desperate to overhaul his midfield options ahead of the new campaign.
Marouane Fellaini left for China in January, Ander Herrera has joined PSG on a free transfer while Paul Pogba is being strongly linked with a move away this summer after expressing his desire to seek a new challenge.
Therefore, Solskjaer is expected to target two new midfielders over the coming weeks and Sport Media Set claim Man Utd are pushing to sign Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio after he made it clear he wants to leave the club this summer.
The Italian publication says Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has flown to London to hear a proposal from United but the Red Devils could face competition as the report also suggests other unnamed English clubs are also showing a keen interest.
Sport Media Set claim Lazio want to secure the best possible deal for Milinkovic-Savic and are hoping for around £89.7m [€100m] but will probably have to settle for a fee worth closer to £71.7m [€80m].
We’ll have to wait and see whether Man Utd are able to agree a deal following these supposed talks with Lazio in London but Milinkovic-Savic would be an exciting signing if they could pull it off.
The 24-year-old emerged as one of the most highly-rated young midfielders in Italian football after joining Lazio from Genk in 2015 and he’s also a firm fixture in the Serbia national team squad.

Milinkovic-Savic’s form dipped slightly last season but the central midfielder still managed to provide 5 goals and 3 assists in his 31 Serie A appearances and no doubt United will feel he can develop his game further if he makes a move to Old Trafford this summer.
