Liverpool have joined the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United in the race to sign £20m-rated CSKA Moscow striker Fedor Chalov this summer, according to the Mirror.
The 21-year-old has been with CSKA his entire career having joined the club aged 8 and he’s become an established name in Viktor Goncharenko’s side since breaking into the first team set-up two years ago.
Chalov has earned a reputation as one of the hottest young attackers in European football after contributing 17 goals and 7 assists in his 37 appearances last season while he’s already a senior international with Russia having previously represented his country at every youth level.
The youngsters potential has alerted a whole host of top Premier League clubs with the Mirror claiming that Liverpool have joined Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham in expressing their interest in the talented striker.
Chalov has also caught the attention of clubs on the continent as the newspaper says Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Monaco and Sevilla are also in the race to sign the highly-rated forward.
The Russia international signed a new contract earlier this year that runs until 2022 but the Mirror suggests CSKA may be forced to cash-in if £20m was put on the table by one of Europe’s leading clubs this summer.
Arsenal are in the market for attacking reinforcements after Danny Welbeck left the club when his contract expired last month and the report says Unai Emery has been keen on Chalov since he scored against the Gunners in the 2017/18 Europa League quarter-finals.
Man Utd are also being tipped to bring in another striker ahead of the new season with Romelu Lukaku being hotly linked with a move to Italy and it appears Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eyeing Chalov as a potential replacement.
