Man Utd are in talks with Juventus over a swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala with the Juventus star demanding a £350,000-a-week contract
We’re now at the business end of the summer transfer window and managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the world. Here, the latest on Man Utd’s pursuit of Paulo Dybala…
Manchester United are locked in talks with Juventus over a mega swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala with the Juventus forward demanding a £350,000-a-week contract, according to The Times.
News broke earlier this week that Juventus are keen on signing Lukaku from under Inter Milan’s noses and the Serie A champions are willing to use Dybala as bait to land the Belgian international this summer.
A deal in principal has reportedly been agreed and the Times claim Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici has arrived in London to try and thrash out the finer details and get a deal over the line before the window closes next week.
The newspaper says Lukaku and Dybala are both valued at around £80m so it could be a straight swap deal, however, United will find the deal more costly than Juve as Dybala is wanting a significant increase on his current £6.5m-a-year net salary.
The Times claims the South American forward is demanding a contract worth around £350,000-a-week in order to join Man Utd which would make him one of the highest paid players in the Premier League.
United obviously have the money to pay such a wage so the proposed deal all hinges on how talks between Dybala and Maurizio Sarri go with the report claiming the two men have met at the Juve’s training ground for showdown talks this afternoon.
Dybala is settled in Italy and wants assurances he’ll be a key player if he remains in Turin, however, the Times says Sarri is expected to tell the Argentinean international he is not part of his first team plans this season.
That will pave the way for Dybala to accept a proposed move to Man Utd with Lukaku heading in the opposite direction in what would be one of the most sensational swap deals in recent history.
We’ll have to wait for more news over the coming hours but Dybala would be an exciting signing for United if they could pull it off as he’s still one of the most talented attackers in European football.

The 25-year-old’s form was badly affected by the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo 12 months ago as he only managed to score 5 goals last season but Dybala has all ability needed to be a huge success at Old Trafford if he completes a move this summer.
