Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Daniele Rugani and are closing-in on a deal that would see the centre-back join from Juventus on an initial two-year loan with an obligation to buy for £36m, according to SportItalia journalist Alfredo Pedulla.
Unai Emery is desperately trying to strengthen his defensive options before the transfer window closes on Thursday evening and our need for another centre-back was heightened after Laurent Koscielny completed a move to Bordeaux on Tuesday.
Rugani is a name that’s been linked with Arsenal for some time and it seems we’ve now stepped-up our interest in the 25-year-old after he fell further down the pecking order at Juventus following the arrival of Matthijs de Ligt from Ajax.
SportItalia journalist Alfredo Pedulla claims Arsenal have now agreed personal terms with Rugani worth £3.6million (€4m) per season plus performance-based bonuses following talks on Tuesday.

Pedulla says Arsenal are now trying to find an agreement with Juventus with the two clubs discussing an initial two-year loan deal with an obligation for Arsenal to make the move permanent for £36m (€40m) in 2021.
That sort of deal structure would suit us as we have limited funds remaining following the signings of Nicolas Pepe, William Saliba, Gabriel Matinelli and Dani Ceballos this summer while reports suggest Emery is still hoping to land Kieran Tierney as well as Rugani.
Calciomercato claims that Arsenal will hold further talks with Juventus today in order to try and thrash out an agreement so it looks like we’re trying to push through a deal for Rugani before Thursday’s 5pm deadline.
The Italian international was once regarded as one of the best young defenders in Italy but his career has stagnated recently as he’s struggled to force his way into the Juventus starting eleven on a regular basis.
