Sky Sports: Player undergoing medical after Arsenal agree deal for late swoop
Kieran Tierney is in north London undergoing his medical after Arsenal agreed a £25m deal with Celtic to sign the talented left-back
Transfer deadline day is here and managers are desperately trying to get those last minute deals over the line so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the world. Here, Arsenal close-in on Kieran Tierney…
Kieran Tierney is in north London undergoing his medical after Arsenal agreed a £25m deal with Celtic to sign the talented left-back, according to reports today.
Arsenal have been trying to land Tierney all summer after Unai Emery identified the Scottish international as the man to strengthen our options at left-back amid concerns over Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac.
We saw two offers rejected by Celtic last month and while the second met their £25m valuation, the SPL champions weren’t happy with the number of add-ons included in the proposal.
However, talks resumed this week and the Scottish Sun are one of several outlets to report that Arsenal finally reached an agreement with Celtic on Wednesday after restructuring their £25m offer.
The 22-year-old flew down to London with his agent late last night and Sky Sports claims Tierney was picked up by Arsenal early this morning to go and undergo his medical at London Colney.

As long as there are no complications with his medical, the Scottish Sun says the full-back will sign a five-year contract worth £75,000-a-week while Celtic are also believed to have negotiated a sell-on clause into the deal.
So it looks like Tierney is set to finalise his move to Arsenal over the coming hours and I think he’ll be an excellent addition to Emery’s squad as he’s an upgrade on both Monreal and Kolasinac.
The Scotland international has had his share of injury problems over the past two years but he underwent a double hernia operation recently to resolve the issue so hopefully he’s put those problems behind him.

Tierney is expected to be followed by David Luiz with the Brazilian centre-back set to join Arsenal in an £8m deal from Chelsea before today’s 5pm deadline.
