Klopp to make 2 changes to 4-3-3 formation | Expected Liverpool line-up vs Arsenal

Liverpool will look to move clear at the top of the table when they take on Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday evening. Here is the team we expect Jurgen Klopp to select for the game:

Goalkeeper: Alisson Becker remains on the sidelines with a calf injury so he’ll miss the visit of Arsenal this weekend. Adrian recovered from a minor ankle knock to start against Southampton last week and although his error led to their goal, I think the former West Ham stopper will still retain his place on Saturday.

Defence: Joel Matip has started alongside Virgil van Dijk in Liverpool’s last two matches so it appears he’s favourite to keep his place this weekend. That means Joe Gomez may have to settle for a place on the bench.

I don’t think we’ll see any changes in the full-back areas as Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to keep his place at right-back while Andrew Robertson will continue at left-back so it should be the same back four that started at St Mary’s.

Midfield: However, we could see a couple of changes in the middle of the park. Fabinho was given a breather against Southampton so the Brazilian international is set for a recall against Arsenal with James Milner likely to be the man to make way.

Jordan Henderson is also expected to come back into the Liverpool side after being a substitute last weekend so it will be interesting to see who drops out for the LFC captain.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will no doubt be desperate to take on his former side but his form has been erratic this season so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him dropped and Gini Wijnaldum keeping his place in midfield. Adam Lallana is another option for Klopp in midfield but I think he’ll have to settle for a place on the bench.

Attack: Liverpool’s starting front three all have formidable records against Arsenal in recent games at Anfield so I really don’t think there will be any surprises from Klopp this weekend.

Sadio Mane has been on fire in recent matches so he’s certain to start while Mohamed Salah should line-up on the opposite flank with Roberto Firmino once again leading the line in attack.

That means Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi will have to make-do with places on the bench but they will be good options for Klopp to have in the second half if needed against the Gunners.

Here is how I think Liverpool will line up:
