Sunday’s Predictions & Previews plus last week’s short recap
The biggest derby is going to be played at the Emirates where Arsenal will face north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Last week’s action in the Premier League has brought a couple of big surprises, and a huge match between Liverpool FC and Arsenal FC. Manchester United were big favorites to beat Crystal Palace in front of the home crowd, but they have lost the match in the stoppage time 2-1 FT. As for the reigning champions, Manchester City had no big issues to collect all three points on the road against AFC Bournemouth. They have seven points now, occupying second place. Liverpool outplayed the Gunners and deservedly took three points at Anfield. The Reds are lonely at the top, being the only team to collect the maximum number of points after three weeks.
The most anticipated matches in upcoming days are going to be at St Marry’s where Southampton welcome Manchester United with high team morale. The Saints have earned the first victory of the season last week against Brighton.
Burnley will host Liverpool in Saturday’s closing match at Turf Moor. The Clarets have been a tough team to beat, especially in front of the home crowd, so can this be the first slip up for Jurgen Klopp’s side?
The biggest derby is going to be played at the Emirates. Arsenal FC will face north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Interestingly, both teams have suffered losses in the previous game. Spurs were a massive favorite against Newcastle at home but still lost the match 1-0.
Everton v Wolves Preview
Sunday’s football action is starting at Goodison Park where Everton FC welcomes Wolverhampton Wanderers. The visiting squad is surely going to face some fitness issues after playing on two fronts, EPL and Europa League, for a month now. Duels against Torino were surely exhausting, but it is nice to see Wolves back on the European scene. So far they have collected only three points from the first three league games. Interestingly, all their domestic duels have ended without a winner. There was no winner in Wolves’ matches against Burnley, Manchester United, or Leicester City.
As for their opposition, Everton is the worst team in the Premier League when it comes to efficiency, scoring only one goal so far. Considering that, they should consider themselves lucky to have four points on the balance, occupying the 12th place. Interestingly, bookies are favoring Toffees with 11/10 odds to win this match, despite their poor form. Chances for Wolves to achieve the first victory in this season are currently at 23/10. We have checked with the experts at the best betting sites and they suggest the draw for this one!
Arsenal FC v Tottenham Hotspur
It’s been almost a year since the last time Arsenal managed to beat Tottenham. The last two head to head encounters have ended in a 1-1 draw and a 2-0 win for Spurs in the League Cup in late 2018. Unai Emery and his squad had a great start to the new football season, connecting two victories against Newcastle United and Burnley, with the total goal difference of 3-1. The third round saw them lose to Liverpool 3-1 at Anfield, and it was a harsh reminder that Gunners are nowhere close to a position to battle for the title.
Tottenham have also spilled points in the previous matchday. As mentioned above, they were shockingly defeated by Newcastle United, despite all stats going in Tottenham’s favor. Fans were definitely expecting more after escaping Etihad with a point and a 2-2 draw against the champions. Goals are something we should see this Sunday in London.
