Liverpool will look to make it two wins from two games when they welcome Burnley at Anfield on Saturday afternoon for their first home game of the new season.

The Reds kicked-off the new campaign in style as they eased past newly-promoted Norwich City 3-0 at Carrow Road last Saturday evening. Goals from Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah did the damage to give Jurgen Klopp’s side the perfect start.

However, Liverpool know tougher tests are yet to come and with European Champions Chelsea arriving at Anfield next weekend, the Merseysiders will be keen to get six points on the board with a win over Burnley today.

Klopp has been very quiet in the transfer market this summer as defender Ibrahima Konate is the only major addition to the squad but Liverpool could yet make a late move before the window closes as they haven’t replaced Gini Wijnaldum – who joined PSG on a free transfer this summer.

Despite the lack of new signings, Liverpool should still be very confident of beating Burnley on home soil this weekend after they kicked-off the new season with a disappointing 2-1 home defeat to Brighton.

Betting odds

Understandably, Liverpool are the heavy favourites to collect all three points this afternoon with betting sites such as https://www.mobile-casinos.io/ tipping the Reds to ease to a comfortable victory. You can back Liverpool at odds of 1/5 but there isn’t much value in that bet at such short odds.

Burnley are available at 5/1 if you fancy a shock at Anfield while the draw is currently 6/1 but we can’t see past a home win. A 3-0 Liverpool win looks tempting at 6/1 but if we add Salah to open the scoring in a 3-0 victory the odds increase to a whopping 17/1.

The Egyptian has been a key player for Liverpool since arriving from Roma and opened his account for the season against Norwich last weekend so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him on target against Burnley, too.

Fabinho a doubt

Liverpool will make a late decision on whether Fabinho will feature following the death of his father. Jordan Henderson is back in training after missing the Norwich game so he could start in midfield today.

Thiago Alcantara is another player who’ll face a late test as he’s lacking match fitness but Curtis Jones is available after suffering a head injury last week. Andrew Robertson missing the game due to an ankle injury but he’s ahead of schedule in his recovery.

Despite their issues, Liverpool should still have more than enough quality to see off Burnley at Anfield so I’m sure they’ll be in plenty of accumulators this weekend!
