Manchester United will get back to Premier League action after the international break when they take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday 16th, kick-off 3pm.
The Red Devils enjoyed a solid start to the new season and were buoyed by the return of Cristiano Ronaldo but they’ve stuttered lately and the pressure is on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to get them firing again.
After being knocked out the League Cup following a 1-0 home defeat to West Ham, United were then beaten 1-0 by Aston Villa at Old Trafford last month. The were fortunate to beat Villarreal 2-1 in the Champions League before being held to a 1-1 draw by Everton last time out in the league.
Just one win in four consecutive home matches in all competitions is an extremely poor return for Manchester United so Solskjaer needs to get things back on track before the season starts to slip away from him.
However, United start a tough run of fixtures with a trip to the King Power next weekend where they’ll take on a Leicester City side in desperate need of a positive result following a disappointing start to the season.
How to watch
Ronaldo’s return to the club has boosted attendances so it’s more difficult than ever to get Manchester United tickets but it’s always worth trying various outlets to see if you get lucky as watching the game in person is a far greater experience than following the match on TV.
For those not fortunate enough to attend the game, the match against Leicester hasn’t been selected for live broadcast on Sky Sports or BT Sports so you’ll have to wait to watch the highlights later on Saturday evening.
You can often get clips of goals and chances on social media platforms and some fans even try to use dodgy streaming services, but of course we can’t condone that sort of thing.
Team news
Man Utd will assess the fitness of Marcus Rashford over the coming days after he returned to full training recently following shoulder surgery. The attacker will be hoping to make his first appearance of the season against Leicester City.
Amad Traore is still working his way back from a thigh injury while Harry Maguire remains a doubt due to a calf problem that he sustained late last month. Anthony Martial picked up a knock during the draw with Everton so he’ll have to be checked over.
Leicester will continue to be without James Justin due to a long-term knee injury while Wilfred Ndidi is also ruled out with a thigh injury. Jonny Evans should return from illness to face his former club but Wesley Fofana remains a long-term absentee.
Prediction
Leicester 1-1 Man Utd: The Foxes have struggled to hit their stride so far this season but they usually up their game when the big boys come to town so I’d expect a much improved performance from Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Manchester United have struggled at home lately but they’ve been excellent on the road for over a year and they’ll be confident of getting a positive result at the King Power. We’re going for a score draw in this one.
