About the League
The U.S National Women’s Soccer League ( NWSL) is a professional women’s soccer league in the United States that was founded in 2013 by U.S Soccer and the Canadian Soccer Association (CSA). The league is run by U.S soccer with each of its teams owned by either Major League Soccer (MLS) or Canadian Premier League clubs.
Some teams are also privately owned by groups of women investors who help cover operating costs. Such costs include; stadium rent, equipment, and travel expenses for players and staff members to attend games played away from the home stadium.
NWSL was formed in 2013, and there are now 23 teams playing in nine cities across America. One team, called FC Edmonton, is based out of Vancouver, Canada.
How it Happens
This league happens every year and usually lasts for seven months, starting from April to October 31st.

The English FA Women’s Super League is a women’s football league in England and Wales. It is at the top of the women’s football pyramid, above the WSL 2 and below the FA Women’s championship.
