The first half was quite tense. None of the teams could get a chance to score a goal. But already in the second half, the teams began to play more aggressively, bringing results. The German soccer team opened the score. Ilkay Gundogan was accurate from 11 meters in the 52nd minute after the chief referee accepted the help of the VAR system. Harry Maguire fouled Jamal Musial in his box in that playing moment. Already in the 67th minute of the match, Kai Havertz scored the second goal against the British, doubling the lead in the game. He hit a long-range shot and left no chance for Nick Pope.
In the 72nd minute, the England team scored a goal and cut Germany’s lead. Although the referee was warned that the ball had crossed the goal line in the play, detection technology helped. After another 3 minutes in the 75th minute of the match, Mason Mount equalized the score in the game by scoring a stunning goal against Germany.
At the 83rd minute, the VAR system intervened again. She testified that Nico Schlotterbeck fouled Jude Bellingham, and the match referee awarded another penalty against Germany. England captain Harry Kane scored it. The score in the game became 3-2 in favour of England.
Germany managed to level the score in the 87th minute of the game. Nick Pope badly parried a shot from Serge Gnabry, and the ball went to Kai Havertz, who scored a double in the match. The game ended in a draw with a score of 3-3.
It is worth noting that England’s performance in this Nations League was at a reasonably low level, especially if you consider the fact that the team will soon play at the 2022 World Cup. In the last six matches, the English have not been able to win. They had three losses and three draws. One can only hope that Three Lions head coach Gareth Southgate has some plan in mind for the World Cup, as England won’t be able to perform well with such a game.
