Xavi Simons was the last major signing made by Levy before stepping down from his role, and the board is already drafting plans for another lucrative acquisition with TEAMtalk reporting about Spurs being keen on Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers.
Rogers is one of Villa’s best and most crucial players, although he has a lofty price tag worth £100 million, the source has added. Chelsea are also interested in the midfielder and view him as a replacement to Simons, who they missed out on in the summer.
The big problem for Spurs and Chelsea is Villa would be reluctant to sell Rodgers. It’s safe to say the football transfer betting odds would be heavy stacked against a move happening in January, so the London giants will have to wait until next summer to make their move.

Morgan Rogers would be a fantastic new signing for Tottenham Hotspur and together with Xavi Simons, he would significantly up their quality in the final third with his world-class creativity and eye for goal.
After a few years at Aston Villa, including a season with 30 goals and assists last time out, Spurs would be confident that his proven credentials in the Premier League will also help Rogers play in a number of positions across the final third.
For the time being, they are lacking a potent left winger after Son Heung-min’s departure for Los Angeles FC in the summer and therefore, Rogers would be a handy fixture on the flank, a position which he has been employed in before.
£100 million might be a heavy asking price for Tottenham Hotspur, and with Chelsea in the picture, it will definitely take a massive bid to convince Aston Villa to part company with the English international.
