Tottenham make contact to sign Galatasaray’s Gabriel Sara

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made contact to sign Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara, as per Caught Offside.
After joining Cimbom from Norwich City a couple of years ago, the 26-year-old has enjoyed great success, winning a Super Lig title and Turkish Cup. He even made 11 goal contributions across all competitions last term.
This season, he has continued to display promising performances, netting six goals and registering three assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.
Furthermore, Sara has been helping his side mount a title charge once again, sitting at the top of the Super Lig with a four-point lead from second-placed Fenerbahce, having played one game less.
After proving his worth in club football, he has secured his place in Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil national team.
Now, Caught Offside claim that having been impressed by the South American, Tottenham have expressed their interest in signing him.
Spurs have surprisingly found themselves in a relegation scrap this season, sitting only one point ahead of the drop zone. But they are confident of staying in the Premier League, having appointed Roberto De Zerbi as the new manager.
Sara to Tottenham
So, they have started exploring options to strengthen the squad this summer. Although other clubs are also interested in Sara, the Lilywhites have stepped up their efforts by holding initial talks to win the race.
With the South American’s contract set to run until 2029, Galatasaray aren’t in any rush to sell him and want to keep hold of him for one more year at least.
However, the Turkish giants are ready to change their stance should they receive an offer of around £39m, with the player ‘keen’ on playing in the English top-flight.
Sara is a technically gifted left-footed versatile player who can play anywhere across the middle of the park. He is currently at the prime stage of his career and is familiar with English football’s physicality, having previously played for Norwich.
So, Sara might be a shrewd acquisition for Tottenham should they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to secure his service during the offseason.
