Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made contact to sign Chelsea forward Pedro Neto, as per TEAMtalk.
Although the Lilywhites won the Europa League title during the 2024/25 campaign, they finished 17th in the Premier League and even avoided relegation on the final day last term.
As a result, they have been very busy in this transfer window to strengthen the squad and help Roberto De Zerbi turn the situation around next season.
Spurs have signed Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke to solidify their leaky defence, while they have purchased Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali to bolster the engine room.
TEAMtalk now claim that Tottenham have shifted focus to upgrading the flanks and have identified Savinho as a serious option. Spurs have been working on a deal to sign the Brazilian for weeks, but Man City have continued to delay negotiations as they first want to sign a replacement before sanctioning Savinho’s departure.
Maresca’s side have identified Neto as a serious option alongside Paris Saint-Germain forward Ibrahim Mbaye. They have even held talks with Chelsea over the Portuguese’s transfer.
However, the report state that Tottenham have earmarked Neto as a potential alternative option if they fail to sign Savinho. They have even made contact to learn about the details of signing him.
Neto to Tottenham
The 26-year-old isn’t keen on leaving Stamford Bridge this summer, but following Geovany Quenda and Morgan Rogers’ arrivals, he might be open to a move.
With the player’s existing deal set to run until 2031, Chelsea are in a strong position to demand a big fee for him and want around £60m.
Neto is a left-footed, versatile forward as he is comfortable on either flank. The winger is quick, strong, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, and works hard without possession. He is a Premier League-proven player and is currently at the prime stage of his career.
Therefore, the Chelsea star would be a shrewd acquisition for Tottenham should they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to sign Savinho or make a move for Neto.
