Tottenham Hotspur are expected to rebuild their offensive department over the next few weeks having spent a significant amount of money this summer to make quality additions in their defence and midfield.
Roberto De Zerbi is believed to be keen on the addition of a consistent goal-scorer up top after both Dominic Solanke and Richarlison failed to live up to expectations for much of last season, while struggling with their fitness as well.
Graeme Bailey has reported that Spurs launched an audacious enquiry regarding a possible return to the club for Bayern Munich marksman Harry Kane, who has entered the last year of his contract at the Allianz Arena.
Barcelona have also been linked with a transfer for the England captain, who is valued at £51 million on Transfermarkt, after another exceptional campaign with Bayern Munich and a productive World Cup with the Three Lions too.
Kane move unlikely
While Harry Kane is a club legend and at the ripe age of 33, still is one of the world’s best players, a return to Tottenham Hotspur or for that matter, a switch to Barcelona, seems like a tall order with Bayern Munich expected to tie him down to a new deal.
As per The Times, Kane is himself keen on continuing at Bayern, where he hopes to win the Champions League, with an agreement on a contract extension between the two parties imminent, therefore tying him down to the Germans until 2029.
From a Tottenham Hotspur’s perspective, a second stint at the club for Kane, especially in his prime years was always going to be a long shot but it now remains to be seen which other offensive names are on their list for a much-needed revamp up top.
Eli Junior Kroupi was closely linked with a switch to London but has been injured during pre-season for Bournemouth, so AS Monaco’s Folarin Balogun has emerged as an interesting option of late with the American prepared to pursue a new challenge too.
