Everton in regular contact to sign Tottenham’s Richarlison

Everton have reportedly been in regular contact with Tottenham Hotspur over a deal to sign Richarlison, as per TEAMtalk.
Since joining the Lilywhites from the Toffees back in 2022, the 29-year-old has mainly featured as a rotational option. Still, he helped his side win the Europa League last year.
Amid Dominic Solanke’s fitness problems, the Brazilian played regularly last campaign, scoring 12 goals and registering five assists in 43 appearances across all competitions.
However, Richarlison has entered the final 12 months of his current contract; therefore, speculation surrounding his future has been emerging in this window.
Now, TEAMtalk claim that Roberto De Zerbi isn’t desperate to sell Richarlison, but Tottenham are prepared to cash-in on him in this window if he wishes to leave.
Everton are interested in bringing the South American back and have been in regular contact with the North London club over this deal, with the forward very keen on returning to Merseyside.
As Richarlison’s existing deal is set to expire next summer, Spurs might allow him to leave in a cut-price deal, with the player valued at around £21m by Transfermarkt.
Richarlison to Tottenham
However, the report state that Everton are likely to formalise their interest in Richarlison only if they eventually part ways with Thierno Barry or Beto, with the 28-year-old’s existing deal set to run until next summer.
After moving to the Hill Dickinson Stadium from Villarreal, Barry displayed average performances last term, scoring just eight goals in 41 appearances across all competitions.
On the other hand, Beto has struggled to showcase consistency since joining from Udinese, netting 10 times and registering a solitary assist in 40 appearances in all tournaments last season.
Therefore, Everton could do with signing a new prolific striker this summer. Richarlison is a talented player and is still at the prime stage of his career.
Therefore, he would be a shrewd acquisition for Everton should they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Merseyside club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services during this offseason.
Meanwhile, Everton are set to start their new Premier League campaign against Crystal Palace at the Hill Dickinson Stadium next weekend.
