Man Utd Transfer News
Man Utd could seal late deal for Myles Lewis-Skelly

Manchester United could reportedly seal a late deal for Arsenal star Myles Lewis-Skelly, as per The Athletic.
After coming through the Gunners’ youth system, the 19-year-old made his first-team debut a couple of years ago. He has mainly featured as a rotational option in recent seasons but has displayed promising performances during the pre-season.
The Englishman even performed excellently against Manchester City in the Community Shield on Sunday, where Mikel Arteta’s side thrashed the Citizens 3-0. Lewis-Skelly initially started as a left-back but has been featuring as a midfielder in recent months.
Now, The Athletic report that Man Utd are considering reinforcing the left-back and midfield departments late in this window and want a versatile option like Lewis-Skelly.
The Red Devils have been offered the chance to sign the youngster through intermediaries. Although finalising the operation would be complicated as the player wants to stay at Arsenal, there is a possibility that United could still manage to secure his services before the September 1st transfer deadline.
The report further state that Man Utd hold a strong interest in Lewis Hall, but Newcastle United have no intention of parting ways with him, having already sold Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes this summer.
United have even identified Racing Club star Jorge Salinas as a cheaper alternative option, with the player having a €16m release clause in his current contract.
Lewis-Skelly to Arsenal
Lewis-Skelly is valued at around £38m by Transfermarkt and still has a contract until 2030. Therefore, Arsenal aren’t in any rush to sell him this summer.
The youngster is technically sound, quick, strong, and can make surging runs from deep. Moreover, he can play threading passes between the lines and is efficient in defensive contributions.
Following Martin Zubimendi’s dip in form last term, Lewis-Skelly featured regularly for Arsenal and even started the Champions League final alongside Declan Rice in the engine room.
However, following Guimaraes’ arrival this summer, Lewis-Skelly might fall in the pecking order. He is a talented player and possesses high potential. So, he would be a shrewd acquisition for Man Utd should they eventually manage to secure his services before the September 1st transfer deadline.
