Tottenham make contact to sign Chelsea’s Pedro Neto

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made contact over a deal to sign Chelsea forward Pedro Neto, as per TEAMtalk.
After being impressed by the 26-year-old’s performances for Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Blues decided to purchase him a couple of years ago.
During his debut campaign at Stamford Bridge, the Portuguese helped his side win the Club World Cup and Conference League titles. Moreover, he guided them to finish in the Premier League’s top four.
Chelsea endured a disappointing campaign last term; still, Neto showcased his productivity, scoring 10 goals and registering as many assists across all competitions.
Having proven his worth in club football, the forward has secured his place in the Portuguese national team’s starting line-up.
Now, TEAMtalk claim that Tottenham are interested in Neto and have made contact to learn about the details of signing him this summer.
Moreover, Manchester City and Al-Hilal are also in this race. Like Spurs, the Citizens have enquired about him, but the Saudi Pro League giants have already launched a £60m proposal.

However, the report state that Xabi Alonso considers Neto a key player for the future, while Chelsea don’t want to part ways with him this summer.
With his existing deal set to run until 2031, the West London club have slapped a whopping £100m price tag on his head to keep the vultures away.
Neto is a left-footed versatile forward as he is comfortable on either flank. However, Alonso has used him in the wingback role during the pre-season.
The Chelsea star is quick, strong, technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, and is efficient in creating opportunities for fellow attackers. Moreover, he has an eye for long-range passing and works extremely hard without possession.
Neto has shown glimpses of his qualities in the Premier League in recent years and is currently at the prime stage of his career. Therefore, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Tottenham should they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to lure him away from Stamford Bridge before the end of this transfer window.
