Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Real Sociedad defender Jon Aramburu, as per Football Insider.
Following Djed Spence’s move to Inter Milan, the Lilywhites have been left with Pedro Porro as the only specialist right-back option. Archie Gray has provided cover in this position at times, but he is a midfielder by trait.
Now, Football Insider report that despite already splashing a huge amount of money in this window, Tottenham don’t want to stop their spending spree just yet.
They want a new forward, and Liverpool star Cody Gakpo is on their radar, while De Zerbi’s side are keen on signing a new right-back to create competition for Porro.
Tottenham are interested in Aramburu and have been monitoring his development closely before making a potential late swoop. He has a £51m release clause in his current deal, which is set to run until 2030.
The report state that Aramburu’s future has become uncertain at Real Sociedad following their decision to sign Hector Fort from Barcelona this summer.
Aramburu is a technically gifted right-back. The Venezuelan is good in the air, comfortable playing out from the back, and is efficient in defensive contributions.

He has established himself as an undisputed starter in Real Sociedad’s starting line-up in recent years, scoring a solitary goal and keeping four clean sheets in 42 appearances across all competitions last term.
Having proven his worth in club football, the defender has secured his place in the Venezuelan national team.
Aramburu is a talented player and possesses high potential. He hasn’t even reached his prime yet; therefore, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Tottenham should they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services before the end of this transfer window.
Meanwhile, following a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Brentford in the opening Premier League fixture, Tottenham returned to winning ways by thrashing Charlton Athletic 5-1 in the EFL Cup in midweek.
