Tottenham suffer huge Mykhailo Mudryk injury blow

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly suffered a huge blow as new summer signing Mykhailo Mudryk is set to remain sidelined for a few weeks after sustaining an injury.
Having finished 17th in the last two Premier League campaigns, the Lilywhites decided to splash a huge amount of money this summer to help Roberto De Zerbi rebuild the squad and turn the situation around.
Spurs upgraded the midfield department and backline. Moreover, they signed Martin Dubravka to support Antonin Kinsky after allowing Guglielmo Vicario to join Juventus.
On the other hand, Tottenham purchased Omar Marmoush and Savio from Manchester City to strengthen the striker and right-wing positions, respectively.
With Dejan Kulusevski out injured for more than a year and Wilson Odobert struggling with a serious knee issue, Tottenham also wanted a new left-winger.
Iliman Ndiaye and Cody Gakpo emerged as serious targets. However, Tottenham failed to sign either of them, with Gakpo deciding to stay at Liverpool, while Ndiaye opted to join Man City.
After failing to buy primary targets, Tottenham signed Mudryk on loan from Chelsea on deadline day. The forward was suspended for around two years after being found guilty of breaching the doping rules, but he has now been cleared to play football again.
Mudryk suffers injury
However, Football London report that Mudryk has sustained an injury in training and is set to remain sidelined over the coming weeks. He is unlikely to return until after the international break, meaning he won’t be available for selection against Everton, Liverpool and Aston Villa.
Amid Mudryk’s absence, Mathys Tel is expected to provide cover on the left flank. He showed glimpses of his qualities during the pre-season matches but hasn’t been able to replicate that thus far this season.
The Frenchman is still very young and needs time to reach his full potential. On the other hand, new signing Savio can provide cover on the left flank, and De Zerbi can use the Brazilian there, deploying Mohammed Kudus on the opposite side.
The Ghanaian has returned to full fitness after remaining sidelined throughout the second half of last campaign. He showcased promising performances last term after joining from West Ham United.
