Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing AFC Bournemouth forward Rayan, as per TEAMtalk.
After letting Antoine Semenyo join Manchester City, the Cherries decided to reinforce the attacking department by purchasing the 20-year-old from Vasco da Gama last winter.
The Brazilian took no time to adapt to the Premier League’s physicality, helping his side qualify for the Europa League by finishing sixth in the league last campaign.
In 15 Premier League appearances, Rayan scored five goals and registered two assists last term. He has now established himself as an undisputed starter on the right flank at the Vitality Stadium.
Having shown glimpses of his qualities in the English top-flight, the youngster secured his place in Brazil’s World Cup squad. Following Raphinha’s injury absence, Rayan even started regularly for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
Now, TEAMtalk claim that although Bournemouth managed to keep hold of their star players this summer, they might have to let them leave ahead of next season.
Despite signing Bradley Barcola and Victor Muñoz this summer, Liverpool are interested in purchasing Rayan and could make a move next year.
The South American has a £130m release clause in his current contract, which is set to run until 2031, and the clause will become active next summer.
Rayan to Liverpool
The report state that apart from Rayan, Alex Scott, Eli Junior Kroupi and Adrien Truffert are attracting attention from several elite Premier League clubs.
Rayan is a 6ft 1in tall left-footed right-winger. He is quick, strong, good in the air, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, and is efficient in finishing off his chances.
Following Mohamed Salah’s departure, Liverpool have purchased Barcola and Muñoz, but neither player is a like-for-like replacement for the Egyptian.
As a result, it appears the Merseyside club are considering signing a new left-footed right-winger. Rayan is a talented player and has shown glimpses of his qualities in the Premier League.
He hasn’t reached his prime yet. Therefore, the Bournemouth star might be a shrewd acquisition for Liverpool should they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Anfield club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services next summer.
