Atletico and Juventus preparing moves for Noni Madueke

According to Caught Offside, Atletico Madrid and Juventus are considering January moves for Arsenal winger Noni Madueke.

The England international signed for the Gunners from Chelsea for £52 million last summer, and he had a decent debut campaign with 8 goals and 4 assists from 43 appearances.

Madueke has yet to make a goal contribution this season, having played just over 100 minutes in the opening 6 games and this has spread speculation that his future could be elsewhere.

Caught Offside claim that Atletico and Juventus are closely monitoring his situation and are weighing up possible loan moves for the Englishman with an option for a future purchase.

No direct contact has been made with the Gunners for the 24-year-old.

Madueke had an injury-plagued start to his debut season, but still made a valuable contribution. He was not exceptional in any way but provided good cover for Bukayo Saka, who was not fully fit during the campaign.

With Saka fit and firing this term, Madueke has barely played in the past few matches. He could be limited to starts in the Carabao and FA Cups with occasional starting roles in the Premier League and Champions League when Saka is given a breather.

Atletico view Madueke as someone who could add pace and directness on the right flank, while Juventus appreciate his ability to beat defenders in one-on-one situations, as per Caught Offside. Still, we don’t see either succeeding in landing him this winter.

Arsenal have no reason to consider a temporary deal for the former Chelsea man. Saka may be an undisputed starter but Madueke is still highly-rated by manager Mikel Arteta, and he remains a possible game-changer off the bench in league and Europe.

The Gunners have a sublime young talent in Max Dowman, who can slot on the right wing too. The 16-year-old has already made a big impression in a forward capacity with goal involvements, but still needs to improve the defensive side of his game.

Dowman should eventually get more minutes for Arsenal but the club may not entertain Madueke’s exit this winter on loan. The scenario could be different next summer, but the hierarchy may still seek to recoup the entire transfer fee paid to sell him.
