Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane, as per TEAMtalk.
After finishing third in the Premier League last campaign, it was thought that the Red Devils would be able to take the next step in their rebuild under Michael Carrick this season.
They even revamped the engine room by purchasing Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Carlos Baleba from Chelsea, Aston Villa and Brighton and Hove Albion, respectively, this summer.
However, Man Utd have endured a dire start this term, accumulating four points from as many Premier League matches. Moreover, they are currently languishing 13th in the table.
Now, TEAMtalk claim that despite already having Benjamin Sesko and Joshua Zirkzee, United are open to signing a new striker and Kane is on their radar.
Apart from the Old Trafford club, Tottenham are ready to re-sign the Englishman. However, Bayern Munich are confident of tying him down to a fresh contract, with his existing deal set to expire at the end of this season.
Ideally, the Bavarian club want to finalise the deal before the end of this year. But if Kane eventually decides not to extend his stay at the Allianz Arena, he would be open to moving to La Liga.
Battle
The report state that after failing to sign Julian Alvarez this summer, Barcelona are planning to buy a new striker next year and are open to signing Kane if he becomes available.
Real Madrid hold a long-standing interest in the Bayern Munich star, but having already got Kylian Mbappe, Los Blancos are unlikely to make a move for Kane.
Tottenham have decided to reinforce the striker position by purchasing Omar Marmoush this summer, but he isn’t a natural striker. Instead, he likes to play in a withdrawn role.
So, it appears the North London club are considering signing a new striker next year. Kane is one of the best forwards in the world and knows the Premier League very well.
Therefore, he, valued at around £51m by Transfermarkt, would be a shrewd acquisition for Man Utd or Tottenham should either club eventually manage to secure his services in January or next summer.
