Arsenal suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season on matchday five as Brighton & Hove Albion secured a 3-0 success at the Amex Stadium on matchday five against Mikel Arteta’s men last weekend.
Despite the result, the Gunners’ overall good start to the campaign cannot be undervalued although their most recent results showed some gaping holes in their offensive department, not least on the left wing, where a signing has been long overdue.
Football London has reported that Arsenal are now considering a swoop on Brentford in January for Kevin Schade having been impressed by the 24-year-old’s start to 2026/27. He has scored three Premier League goals in five outings so far.
The German’s contribution extends a long way beyond his goals and having sold Gabriel Martinelli as well as Leandro Trossard in the summer, it comes as no surprise that the Gunners want a player with local experience to compete with Christos Tzolis.
Schade a terrific signing for Arsenal
Brentford are unbeaten in their first five matches of the Premier League season and Kevin Schade deserves a large chunk of the plaudits for their form. However, interest from Arsenal could tempt the forward into considering his exit.
Schade is one of the Premier League’s fastest players, has a high success rate at winning aerial duels, and dribbles with directness and intent. His powerful shooting, ability to attack spaces in the final third and defensive work-rate make him a top signing.
It will be interesting to see how much the Bees seek for his services in the transfer window this winter, but their demands may be higher than Schade’s £30 million evaluation on Transfermarkt, given his age and sky-high potential.
Mikel Arteta’s title charge would be significantly bolstered by the addition of a player with proven experience and numbers in the Premier League, so Arsenal could be willing to spend a decent amount on Schade in January having missed out on a differential left winger’s signing earlier this year.
