Liverpool star Alexander Isak hailed as best CF in PL

Former striker Teddy Sheringham has claimed that Liverpool centre-forward Alexander Isak is the best in the Premier League.
After joining Newcastle United from Real Sociedad, the 27-year-old showcased his goal-scoring prowess in the Premier League. Having been attracted to him, the Reds decided to purchase him by spending a club-record fee last year.
However, the Swedish international struggled to showcase his best in his debut campaign at Anfield, with fitness problems being one of the key reasons.
But Isak has enjoyed a promising start this season, scoring four goals and registering a solitary assist in seven appearances across all competitions.
Now, during a recent interview, Sheringham states (via Metro) that he likes Isak and believes the 27-year-old is the best striker in the Premier League, although Erling Haaland has been the most consistent striker in the league in recent years.
The former striker further says that Isak possesses the necessary goal-scoring attributes to be the best in the world.
Sheringham said:
“I really like Alexander Isak. I like what he gives you as a centre-forward. For me, he’s the best striker in the Premier League. He is phenomenal. I’d like to see him win the Golden Boot this year, and not just to beat Erling Haaland but for the way that Isak plays the game, and how hungry he is for goals.”

Isak is a striker by trait but can also provide cover on the left flank if needed. Apart from him, Liverpool currently have Hugo Ekitike as the striker option.
Amid Isak’s injury absence, Ekitike featured regularly last campaign and showed glimpses of his qualities, making 23 goal contributions in 45 appearances across all competitions.
However, he has been sidelined for an extended period due to a serious injury. So, Andoni Iraola currently has Isak as the only available striker option. On the other hand, Gakpo previously provided cover in the No.9 position for Liverpool.
Meanwhile, having endured a disappointing campaign last term, Liverpool decided to part ways with Arne Slot, and Iraola has been appointed as the new manager.
However, the Anfield club have had a mixed start this season, accumulating nine points from five games and sitting sixth in the Premier League.
