Arsenal preparing fresh move for Antonio Nusa, top January target

Club Brugge forward Antonio Nusa
According to Caught Offside, Arsenal are preparing a fresh move for RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa during the winter transfer window.

The Gunners were linked with the Norway international during the summer, but they did not proceed with a formal approach to secure his services.

Nusa has since been in sublime form for Leipzig and Caught Offside cite that he has emerged as a top transfer target for the Premier League holders this winter.

Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz is the other alternative but it could be difficult to persuade the Bianconeri to sell him unless a huge offer is made.

Huge potential

Nusa did not make a significant impact for Leipzig during the 2025/26 campaign. He registered only 5 goals and 4 assists from 35 appearances in all competitions for the German side.

However, he has stepped up to another level this term and has already amassed 5 goal contributions in 6 matches, and recently provided an assist on Nations League duty for the Norwegian national team.

Nusa has definitely become more consistent over the last few months. He has caught the eye with his dribbling and directness in the final third and does not shy away from taking long-range shots.

Arsenal signed a fantastic left winger in Christos Tzolis over the summer, but they are short in the department after the exits of Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli in the same transfer window.

Tzolis recently sustained a hamstring injury and could be out for a few weeks at least. This leaves the Gunners with Eberechi Eze to operate as a makeshift left winger when he is primarily a central attacking playmaker. Noni Madueke could play there too.

Hence, we won’t be surprised if Arsenal are prepared to splash the cash on a left-sided attacker in January. Nusa would be a fabulous recruit due to his huge potential, but Leipzig could be reluctant to sell him midway through the campaign.

The Sun previously claimed that the Norwegian could be prised away for around £51 million, but Arsenal may have to pay a much higher fee to persuade the Bundesliga outfit to sanction his departure at the start of the year.
