Man Utd completely convinced about signing Youssouf Fofana

According to Vamos Mi Sevilla, Manchester United are fully convinced to sign AC Milan midfielder Youssouf Fofana when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.
The Red Devils had a huge midfield spending spree in the summer. They initial signed Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans in a matter of days before a late surprise swoop for Carlos Baleba even though he was injured.
Santos and Tielemans have already made a decent impression but Baleba has yet to make his Red Devils debut. Amidst this, Vamos Mi Sevilla claim that United are weighing up a big-money offer for Fofana this winter.
They have been left impressed by Fofana’s ongoing loan stint at Sevilla and are ‘fully convinced’ to land his signature in January. They are expected to make a formal approach to Milan, who still have the player’s rights.
Sevilla did not agree on a buy option as part of the loan deal this summer, and Milan could seek to terminate it with a compensation if United were to make a lucrative winter proposal to sign the France international.
Experience
Fofana signed for the Rossoneri from Monaco two years ago for £21 million. He made 88 appearances in his two seasons at Milan before he was deemed surplus to requirements under new manager Ruben Amorim.
His move to La Liga has seen an upturn in his performances. He has started four games in the Spanish top-flight for Sevilla where he has impressed with several attributes. He has won almost five duels and five recoveries per appearance with two tackles.
The 27-year-old has also sought to make a mark in the final third and scored a goal during the recent 3-1 loss to Barcelona. Fofana obviously feels at home in Seville and his performances seem to have impressed United, who may want another holding midfielder with Manuel Ugarte injured for the long-term.
Baleba should be a quality acquisition once he is up to full fitness but the club may want another experienced number six in the squad. Santos is still relatively inexperienced at the top level and looks more comfortable as a central midfielder without defensive responsibilities.
Milan may seek to recoup the £21m fee paid to Monaco for Fofana. It remains to be seen whether United formalise their current interest into a formal bid. The Rossoneri may need to compensate Sevilla first in order to terminate the loan in the next transfer window.
