Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur keen on signing Club Brugge forward Nicolo Tresoldi

San Siro hat-trick hero - How good is Nicolò Tresoldi and how much will he cost to buy? | Transfermarkt

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are on contrasting ends of the Premier League table, and while they have differing objectives for the campaign, the London rivals are both facing a similar issue – a lack of consistent goal-scorers in the team.

Dominic Solanke has failed to remain fit or in consistent form for the Lilywhites, whereas Viktor Gyokeres has been wasteful and lacked the desired impact for the Gunners. It is believed that the English sides are now set to battle it out for a mutual target.

Italian source Tutto Sport has reported that Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both keen on signing Club Brugge marksman Nicolo Tresoldi, who has made an emphatic start to the season with the Belgian side across all competitions.

He has bagged nine goals already this season, including a Champions League hat-trick away at Inter Milan last week. He is valued at £30 million on Transfermarkt but if his current form continues, his stock may rise significantly by next summer.

Arsenal would trump Spurs to sign Tresoldi

Club Brugge have become annual participants in the Champions League lately and with Nicolo Tresoldi likely to see European action as a key factor in picking his next club, it is safe to think Arsenal will trump Tottenham Hotspur for the 22-year-old.

Besides the Champions League factor, Arsenal have recently built a relationship with Club Brugge, from whom they signed Christos Tzolis, and after the Greek international came good, they will be confident in Nicolo Tresoldi’s credentials.

Nicolo Tresoldi is comfortable using both his feet and has strong heading too, which makes him a lethal presence in the box. His movement and clinical finishing reflect in his statistics this season and the German U21 international will get better over time.

Given that Viktor Gyokeres does not seem to be an integral part of Mikel Arteta’s plans and Kai Havertz playing as a striker in the interim, it will be interesting if there are any chances of Arsenal attempting a swoop for Tresoldi in January itself.
