Timber starts as White drops out: Predicted Arsenal XI vs Bayern Munich

Arsenal face arguably their toughest test of the season in all competitions tomorrow as they take on Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on matchday three of the Champions League at 21:00 CET, hoping to continue their winning start to the competition.
Mikel Arteta’s men have yet to concede a goal in the European Cup this season having beaten Napoli 1-0 and Lille 3-0 in their last couple of outings, but the Bayern test will go a long way in determining whether they can repeat or better last year’s continental run.
Here is a look at the players the visitors are likely to go with in their starting eleven.
Goalkeeper – David Raya is expected to continue as the number one for the Gunners.
Defenders – Ben White played against Nottingham Forest on Sunday but Jurrien Timber, who was influential in the last game against Lille in the Champions League, could replace the Englishman at right back. Riccardo Calafiori, meanwhile is expected to retain his berth on the left side of defence.
Ezri Konsa and Gabriel Magalhaes could round off the defensive setup by partnering with one another in the centre.
Guimaraes and Eze start again
Midfielders – Bruno Guimaraes has overtaken Martin Zubimendi in the pecking order under Mikel Arteta in recent weeks. The Brazilian international is expected to feature over the ex-Real Sociedad star once again in the engine room, with Declan Rice the overwhelming favourite to pair with him in the double pivot. Martin Odegaard is also likely to play as the number 10.
Bukayo Saka’s form lately has been questionable but he retains Mikel Arteta’s full trust. Therefore, he is expected to play as the right winger. Eberechi Eze is also in contention to start on the left wing over Noni Madueke after playing a key role in last week’s win over Lille.
Forward – Viktor Gyokeres played as the striker in the previous European Cup game for the Gunners but Kai Havertz, who has been Arteta’s go-to choice at number nine lately is expected to continue playing as the centre forward against Bayern Munich.
Here is a look at how Arsenal’s team might look on paper.
