United Let Chelsea & City Battle It Out For £25m England Star
Reports in the News of the World suggests Manchester United have pulled out on a potential move for Everton’s Jack Rodwell after a £25million move was agreed in January.
United chief Sir Alex Ferguson was looking to secure the England U21 starlet this summer and a deal was agreed in principal, but 20-year old has had a dipped in form since January and United are unsure that Rodwell justifies such a huge price tag.
With United seemingly pulling out of a potential move Manchester City and Chelsea are favourites to land the combative midfielder. Both clubs had been linked with the Evertonian earlier on in the season but a deal around £25million still appears unlikely.
Rodwell joins a long list of target for Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich – the ambitious list consists off Sergio Aguero, Neymar, Romelu Lukaku and Manchester United target Wesley Sneijder.
