Chelsea Convinced Tottenham Will Sell Modric
Chelsea are convinced that they can secure the signing of want-away Tottenham ace Luka Modric this summer.
The Blues have had two bids rejected for the Croatian midfielder with Chelsea thought to be preparing a third offer believed to be in the region of £30million, reports the Sun.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy remains adamant the midfielder will not be sold, but it seems Chelsea won’t take no for an answer and are planning internal talks to discuss their next move. Chelsea have also missed out on Javier Pastore who is set to sign for French outfit PSG. The 22-year old was another playermaker Andre Villa-Boas had targeted this summer but the Argentine opted for a move to Ligue 1.
New Blues chief Andre Villas-Boas has already spoken with Stamford Bridge chief executive Ron Gourlay about new signings. When asked about Modric, Gourlay said:
“I don’t like talking about players from other clubs. But that’s something we’ll look at during the week and we’ll take it from there.
“We really need to sit down with Andre and talk this through.
“Even though we’ve been travelling in the Far East for the past two weeks, you can still be active in the marketplace nowadays.
“The communication is always there with our guys back in London or wherever they are around the world.”
