Ambitious Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge has aspirations to become a player acknowledged around the world.
The 21-year old hopes to keep progressing at the Blues and looks to current strikers Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba for inspiration, and Sturridge admits to striving for a worldwide status like his teammates. He told the People:
“These guys have worldwide recognition. Seeing them come to countries such as Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong, and the rapport they have with fans, the way people look at them, they’re like gods out here.
“And hopefully, not in 10 years’ time but in a couple of years’ time, I will have that.
“I’m learning loads from Nando and Didier, but not just those two, from Nicolas Anelka and Salomon Kalou as well.
“They’re all older than me and they’re all teaching me different attributes from their games. I like to take a few little things from them and put them into my own game.
“I want to push myself in world football as far as I possibly can and not just be content with playing in the Premier League. I want to become one of the biggest players around. I don’t want to be content with just being an average player.”
