Berbatov to remain a devil?
By Guest Writer Ross Mackiewicz.
Dimitar Berbatov’s agent has moved swiftly to quash any rumours linking the Bulgarian with a summer move away from Old Trafford. Berbatov has endured yet another frustrating campaign with the red devils, only netting 12 times and very much living in the shadow of his Manchester United team mate Wayne Rooney.
Reports earlier in the week suggested that the “Rossoneri” of AC Milan were courting the front man and considering a £15million pound bid for his services, half of what Manchester United paid Tottenham Hotspur on deadline day in the summer of 2008.
However Berbatov’s agent, Emil Dantchev believes there is no foundation to the rumours and his client is more than happy in Manchester.
“The situation is clear, the future of Dimitar will still be at Manchester, he is happy there… I have read the article on Milan, I can just say that it is a market rumour and it is not real.”
Reports also emanating from Old Trafford suggested that a frosty relationship between player and manager was beginning to surface.
Dantchev added “A difficult relationship with Ferguson? I cannot and don’t want to comment on these speculations from the press…I can only say that I have not scheduled any meeting with Ferguson, because there is no need.”
Meanwhile Berbatov is set for a reunion with some familiar faces this Saturday as his former club Tottenham Hotspur pay a visit to the Theatre of Dreams for the lunchtime kick off. Spurs are flying high in their quest for fourth and pose as a monumental threat to damage Manchester United’s chances of lifting a 19th league title this term.
