Luis Suarez has set the target of Champions League football next season but claims the team are capable of winning the league.
Liverpool have made a good start to the season and Suarez feels getting back in the Champions League is the aim as well as challenging for trohpies.
“We want to get Liverpool back into the Champions League and maybe win a cup,” he told LFC Weekly. “But we also want to get as high as we can in the league. It might be a little bit early but if there’s a chance to win the league, we will go for it.”
The Uruguayan has made an impressive start to his Liverpool career scoring 7 in his 17 appearances for the Reds. The forward doesn’t fear defenders working him out and insists the possibility of defenders studying him is keeping him on his toes.
He said: “I feel no pressure at all. In fact when a defender studies you, it almost makes it easier because you just don’t do what he expects you to.
“If he thinks you are going to go to your right, you go to your left and so on, and you just keep switching it round so you are hard to read. It keeps you on your toes but really it’s harder for the defender because he can’t know what you are going to do.”
