Why Esteban Granero Is Perfect For Arsenal
Guest post by Real Madrid fan Abu Nada:
Esteban Granero is every Manager’s dream. A manager of a fully fit team would love to add Esteban Granero to his squad, so how about Arsene Wenger who has limitless midfield problems?
Arsene Wenger is looking to strengthen his squad’s midfield following the departure of Samir Nasri to Manchester City and Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona. Abou Diaby has been out since last season and Jack Wilshere has been out this season following an ankle injury. Mikel Arteta, Yossi Benayoun, Gervinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were all bought by Arsene Wenger during the summer transfer window, however, Arsenal’s midfield lacks strength and youth at this very moment. Arteta and Benayoun are getting old and Granero is a suitable replacement for the up-coming years.
During the last two years, Esteban Granero was and still is a bench warmer at Real Madrid, sometimes he was not even called up to the bench. He always tries his best to feature in a game but something always gets in his way. Two years ago, he appeared in many matches but then the arrival of German sensation Mesut Ozil, followed by his compatriot Sami Khedira and Benfica’s Argentine Angel Di Maria to the Santiago Bernabeu left him behind them and back to the bench.
Last season, Real Madrid were down 1 – 0 against Almeria, he came from the bench and scored a cracking goal to equalize in the 77th minute which forced Mourinho to use him in several Copa Del Rey matches. Then again, in the recent transfer window, Turkish duo Nuri Sahin and Hamit Altintop arrived at Madrid followed by the signing of Fabio Coentrao who regularly plays as a left back but was assigned to play as a center midfielder by Mourinho and the Brazilian Kaka coming back from injury who was like a new signing to Madrid made Esteban Granero hopeless. There he was, back on the bench full of talent but unfortunately, wasted talent.
Esteban Granero was built to play for Arsenal; he plays in so many different positions making him versatile. He can play as an attacking midfielder, central midfielder, defensive midfielder and believe it or not, he can also play behind the strikers. Reports are indicating that he would cost only 6 million Euros which is a great bargain since he’s young (24 years old), and is seriously talented. He is loved among his teammates. He will also add the joy needed to the locker room and between teammates when Arsenal is going through one of their regular tough times. He’ll combine a lethal duo with either Alex Song or Jack Wilshere when he returns from injury.
Arsenal is in desperate need for Esteban Granero. He is 180cm tall which will help him adapt to the premier league roughness and physical contact. Granero has champions league experience, he’s confident and he got the skills needed. Forget his skills on the field; many say that there isn’t a player on the Real Madrid team that is as dedicated as Esteban Granero. Several Real Madrid fans don’t want to see him leave the club, even though he doesn’t participate a lot. On the other hand, true Real Madrid fans want him to leave because he’s currently wasting his talent.
He is loved by his fans due to his charisma, leadership skills, commitment and dedication towards the club. He used to train when they had the day off. He always wanted to perform his best at training in order to get him a regular place in the team by Mourinho. However, he was treated unfairly and things didn’t work out the way he wanted, I wanted and all fans around the world wanted. I believe that he will try his best to make the Emirates stadium his second home. Arsenal will be the place where Granero will unleash his talent and he will shine there. An amazing player with HUGE potential, I wish him the best of luck if a move was completed to North London in January.
He’s young. He’s strong. He’s versatile. He’s a leader. He’s compassionate. He’s devoted. He’s dedicated. He’s committed. He’s lovable. He’s friendly. He’s Esteban Granero. Arsene Wenger and Arsenal fans, he’s yours.
