Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has today ruled out selling any of his best players during the January transfer window.
Several Spurs players have been linked with a move away from the club as the January transfer window approaches. Luka Modric has once again been linked with a move to Chelsea or Man Utd, who are long term admirers of the Croatian and the West Londoners came close to signing the playmaker in the summer.
England right back Kyle Walker has been sounded out by Spanish giants Real Madrid, Gareth Bale is also a target for Madrid as well as European Champions Barcelona, Aaron Lennon has attracted interest from Juventus while Jermaine Defoe has been linked with a move to QPR.
However, during his Friday press conference Redknapp stood firm and categorically denied that any of his first team players would be leaving White Hart Lane and suggested they would be adding to their squad, if anything. When asked specifically about the future of striker Defoe, Redknapp replied:
“His (Defoe) future is here, we aren’t selling any of our best players. We’re keeping our best players here.
“If anything we will add to the squad. That is the message from myself and the chairman.”
