Redknapp On Modric – “The Chelsea Deal Is Dead”
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has insisted that midfielder Luka Modric will remain at White Hart Lane and a move to Chelsea is now “dead”, despite their interest
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has insisted that midfielder Luka Modric will remain at White Hart Lane and a move to Chelsea is now “dead”.
Chelsea remain keen on Modric and Andre Villas-Boas hinted yesterday that the Blues may yet come back in for the Spurs ace, having failed to land the Croatian schemer in the summer.
However Redknapp has once again denied that the 26-year-old could be on his way out of White Hart Lane, claiming he will remain at Tottenham no matter what Chelsea offer:
“I don’t expect Luka to want to go anywhere,” Redknapp said. “I think the Chelsea deal is dead.
“He’s happy here. I don’t know where he’s at with his contract talks with the chairman but I’m sure they’ll get something done.
“I don’t see there being a problem with Luka. No matter what Chelsea offer, he isn’t going. Not a chance.”
