Transfer News: Liverpool Swoop As Chelsea “Miles” From Agreeing Cahill Terms
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has revealed they are struggling to agree terms with Bolton defender Gary Cahill, with Liverpool waiting in the wings.
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has revealed they are struggling to agree terms with Bolton defender Gary Cahill, with Liverpool waiting in the wings to make a late move.
Owen Coyle confirmed on Friday that Bolton and Chelsea had agreed a fee for the 25-year-old and it was widely expected that personal terms would be nothing more than a formality, and the deal would be completed swiftly.
However, Villas-Boas has conceded that the two parties are “miles apart” and the young boss even warned that they are monitoring other targets:
“We’re still miles apart regarding agreement with the player,” AVB said
“We’ll continue to monitor this situation as we continue to monitor others.”
Liverpool have been tipped to make a late bid to hijack Chelsea’s move for Cahill, with Kenny Dalglish keen to secure a cut-price deal thought to be worth just £5m for one of England’s best centre backs.
