Arsenal & Man City Boosted In Pursuit Of South American Attacker
Arsenal and Manchester City have been alerted to the news that Barcelona are ready to cash-in on attacker Alexis Sanchez this summer, according to the Express.
Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Barcelona are ready to sell Alexis Sanchez.
Arsenal and Manchester City have been alerted to the news that Barcelona are ready to cash-in on attacker Alexis Sanchez this summer, according to the Express.
Sanchez moved to Barcelona in 2011 from Italian side Udinese and enjoyed an encouraging debut season in Spain, scoring 12 goals in his 25 league appearances. However, he’s failed to maintain that form managing just 4 league goals so far this campaign and has struggled to hold down a regular first team place leading to question marks over his future.
The Express claim Arsenal and Manchester City are keen on luring Sanchez to the Premier League this summer and the duo have been boosted by the news that the Catalans are now ready to sell at the end of the season.
The reports suggests that top Barca officials met last week to discuss the futures of Sanchez and David Villa where it was decided that the South American would be sold after failing to convince during his two years at the Nou Camp with the club keen to recoup as much of the £25m they paid Udinese in 2011.
If this report is accurate, it will likely encourage City and the Gunners to step up their reported interest and I’d love to see Sanchez come to the Premiership. We’ve not seen the best of him in La Liga and with a regular run of games under his belt I’m sure he’d fulfill his obvious potential.

However, the pair could face stiff competition for his signature with the newspaper claiming Italian champions Juventus are also interested in taking the exciting attacker to Serie A.
