Liverpool Trying To Push Through £25m Quadruple Deal Ahead Of Deadline Day
Liverpool are trying to push through deals for Thiago Ilori, Mamadou Sakho, Shay Given and Victor Moses before the transfer window slams shut on Monday night.
As we enter the final stages of the summer transfer window, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Liverpool are closing in on four new signings.
Liverpool are trying to push through £25m worth of deals for Thiago Ilori, Mamadou Sakho, Shay Given and Victor Moses before the transfer window slams shut on Monday night, according to the Telegraph.
Boss Brendan Rodgers has already been active in the market bringing in five new faces but it doesn’t look like he’s finished with four more additions in his sight.
The report claims defenders Ilori and Sakho are expected on Merseyside today to undergo medicals ahead of £8m and £15m moves from Sporting Lisbon and PSG respectively, but their arrivals will not see the out-of-favour Martin Skrtel sold despite interest from Napoli.
Cover for Simon Mignolet is also believed to be on the agenda with the Telegraph suggesting Rodgers is close to agreeing a deal with Aston Villa for veteran stopper Shay Given – who has fallen down the pecking order at Villa Park and will move to Anfield on a short-term contract for a nominal fee.
The last piece of business on the cards is strengthening the attack and the newspaper says Liverpool are deep in negotiations with Chelsea for winger Moses, who is likely to make the move north on a season long loan deal that will set the Reds back around £2m.
The quadruple swoop will finalise a huge overhaul at Anfield with the new additions joining Simon Mignolet, Kolo Toure, Aly Cissokho, Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas in making the move to Liverpool this summer, as Rodgers tries to build a squad capable of challenging for the top four this season.
